17th Annual International Military & Civilian Combat Stress Conference was held Saturday-Sunday, May 2-3, 2009

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This annual multi-disciplinary event brings the leading mental health professionals and chaplains in the military together to share their clinical expertise dealing with combat stress, the threat of terrorism, PTSD, and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). The details of the 2009 conference are being finalized and the program and/or speakers are subject to change without notice (e.g., as a result of military deployment).

GOALS

At the conclusion of this program you should be better able to:

-Gain the clinical acumen and skills necessary to respond to the psychological, mental, and spiritual needs of soldiers and their families.

-Develop effective pre-deployment readiness programs for military personnel and their families.

-Provide critical incident stress support services in military and civilian disaster and mass casualites settings.

-Prepare military staff for deployment.

-Provide effective treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
